The FIFA World Cup Trophy will arrive in Dhaka today for a 36-hour tour of Bangladesh.
The trophy will be carried by a special aircraft and expected to land at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:00am.
Later on the day, the trophy will be taken to ‘Bangabhaban’ – the residence of the Honorable President Md Abdul Hamid at 04:00 pm while it will also be taken to ‘Ganabhaban’ – the residence of the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 07:00pm.
On Wednesday, the trophy will be exhibited at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden from 10:00am to 03:00pm.
Later on the day, a concert will be held at the Army Stadium from 4:30pm to 11:00pm to mark the World Cup Trophy visit to Bangladesh after nine years. Earlier the trophy made its visit to Bangladesh in 2013 before FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil.
The global tour of the world’s most coveted trophy started on May 12 with a first-stop event in Dubai. Qatar World Cup is scheduled in November-December this year.
