Methopath Theatre to stage ‘Putultike Dekhe Rekho’ at BSA today

Marking its 5th founding anniversary, theatre troupe Methopath Theatre will stage a monodrama titled ‘Putultike Dekhe Rekho’ at Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy today.

Written by Anisur Rahman, the one-person play has been directed by Shamima Akter Mukta. Palash Hendry Sen has designed the set and lighting, while Ferdous hasan has choreographed the play.

‘Putultike Dekhe Rekho’ revolves around a girl. Shamima Akter Mukta played the role of the girl, who narrates stories of war. The play opens with the girl calling for her father, who has been killed in the war.

The audience gets a glimpse of how a war destroys lives of people as the girl speaks of once bustling localities which were destroyed in war, people who fled their homes as the war began and children who can no longer go to schools because of war.

Methopath Theatre started their journey on June 2, 2017 with the play ‘Atopor Madho’. Inspired by the Rabindra literature, the play has been scripted and directed by Alok Basu.
