Bangladesh beat Indonesia in Asia Cup

Bangladesh defeated the hosts Indonesia by 4-2 goals in the place-deciding match (fifth to eighth) of the ongoing Hero Men’s Asia Cup Hockey 2022 at GBK Sports Arena in Jakarta, Indonesia on Sunday.

After the day’s feat, Bangladesh confirmed another place-deciding match (fifth/sixth) against Pakistan on June 1 at the same venue at 12:30pm (BST).  However, the win also helped Bangladesh to improve its World ranking from 29th to 27th.

Bangladesh earlier ended the third in the four-team Pool B of this ongoing competition with 3 points from one win and two draws.

They beat Oman by 2-1 goals while conceding a 1-6 goal defeat to South Korea and a 1-8 goal defeat to Malaysia in the pool matches.
