Bangladesh defeated the hosts Indonesia by 4-2 goals in the place-deciding match (fifth to eighth) of the ongoing Hero Men’s Asia Cup Hockey 2022 at GBK Sports Arena in Jakarta, Indonesia on Sunday.
Rasel Mahmud, Ashraful Islam, Deen Md Emon and Puskar Khisa scored one goal each for Bangladesh in the 13th, 20th, 24th and 59th minutes of the game while Abdullah Al Akbar and Ardam netted one each for Indonesia in the 20th and 36th minutes.
Bangladesh earlier ended the third in the four-team Pool B of this ongoing competition with 3 points from one win and two draws.
They beat Oman by 2-1 goals while conceding a 1-6 goal defeat to South Korea and a 1-8 goal defeat to Malaysia in the pool matches.
