Yanmar to set up combined  harvester factory in Bangladesh
Representatives of Yanmar and ACI Motors hold a meeting with Agriculture Minister Md Abdur Razzaque at the Secretariat in the capital on Tuesday.

Yanmar, Japanese heavy machinery and agricultural machinery manufacturer, has expressed interest in setting up combined harvester factory in Bangladesh.

Yanmar and ACI Motors will jointly set up the factory in the country.  

The information was disclosed at a meeting held between Agriculture Minister Md Abdur Razzaque and representatives of Yanmar and ACI Motors at the Secretariat in the capital on Tuesday.

After the meeting, the delegation said combined harvester of Yanmar brand has a huge popularity in the country.

“Taking the popularity into consideration, we are interested to set up the factory here,” said International Business Head of Yanmar Sogo Det.

He said they have a plan to go for local production at the beginning of 2024.

The agriculture minister said the traditional methods of crop production are costly and time consuming.

“We welcome the initiative of Yanmar. It will provide all kinds of assistance in setting up factory in Bangladesh,” he added.

International Business representative of Yanmar Ito San, International Service representative Matsumi Sun, and Executive Director of ACI Motors Subrata Ranjan Das were present at the meeting.
