A Khulna court on Sunday sentenced two militants of outlawed militant organisation “Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh” (JMB) to 20 years in prison in an explosive case.
Each of them was also fined Tk 100,000 and or in default to suffer six months more in prison.
Khulna Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge SM Ashikur Rahman pronounced the verdict in the presence of the two around 11:30 am, state counsel Sabbir Ahmed said.
In the case story, the lawyer said that on the night of January 25, 2020, the police arrested the duo from a house on Old Gallamari Road under Sonadanga Police Station.
During interrogation, they identified themselves as JMB members. A large quantity of chemicals and some remote controls were seized from them. Later, Sonadanga Police Station SI Rohit Kumar Biswas filed a case under the Explosives Act.
