The number of daily corona infections has declined below 50 for last around two weeks as the country’s coronavirus situation remains under control for over ten weeks.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), no Covid-19 patient died and 19 infection cases were recorded in the last 24 hours till Friday morning.
In the last 73 days – since March 14 – the country witnessed a total of 43 deathless days in coronavirus infection, according to the DGHS.
The daily number of coronavirus infection cases has declined to below 1,000 on February 25, after eight weeks as 892 infection cases were reported on January 5 in the country.
The number of total infection cases has risen to 19,52,766 with the overall positivity rate of 13.95 percent. Some 3,455 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours.
The daily corona infection rate remains below two percent for over 58 consecutive days. The daily infection rate has remained below four percent for last over seven weeks since February 28.
The daily infection rate was reported 0.55 percent on Friday. It was 0.18 percent on Thursday.
A total of 258 more Covid-19 patients recovered in the meantime, raising the total number of recoveries to 18,97,046. The total recovery rate reached 97.15 percent.
The country's maiden case was reported on March 8 in 2020 and the first death from the virus was reported on March 18 of the same year.
