Klopp extends Liverpool contract until 2026

Jurgen Klopp has agreed a new contract which will keep him and his key backroom staff at Liverpool until at least 2026, reports Mirror.

The Reds manager accepted a fresh four year deal which will replace the remaining two years of his current agreement, and run until 2026, with the option left open of extending beyond that date.

Previously, the German coach had declined to discuss an extension, insisting that his plan was to leave at the end of his current deal in 2024, and even as recently as last month he stated publicly that leaving them was still his intention. But Klopp has felt refreshed and invigorated by his side’s incredible quadruple challenge this season, and increasingly in the past few weeks, he had begun to realise that he can’t turn his back on such an outstanding group of players and staff, and on the Liverpool fans who adore him.
