Archers leave for Turkey today

Bangladesh archery team will leave Dhaka for the Turkish city Antalya on Saturday night to take part in the Archery World Cup stage one, scheduled to be held from April 18–24.

Bangladesh Archery Federation has not officially announced the team yet but an archery official confirmed the names of seven archers to The Daily Sun on Friday.

They are Ruman Shana, Hakim Ahmed Rubel, Sagor Islam and Diya Siddique, Nasrin Akhter, Famida Sultana Nisha for the recurve division while Md Ashikuzzaman for the compound division. 

Earlier, Rubel of Bangladesh Police and Olympian archer Diya of BKSP clinched top spots scoring 657 and 638 in the recurve men’s and women’s of the first national trial which was held at the Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi on Thursday.

BAF is hosting three phases of trials for forming national teams for the upcoming 5th Islamic Solidarity Games and 19th Asian Games.

The second national trial will be held on May 1 and the third trial on May 28 at the same venue while the final team will be announced after the last and final trial.
