Anyone desiring to buy an advance ticket for making Eid journey by train has to show his National Identity Card (NID) or birth certificate.

Bangladesh Railway (BR) will start selling advance tickets from April 23.

He said Bangladesh Railway will sell advance train tickets from five stations for reducing the suffering of passengers.

Tickets for the entire west zone and Khulna bound trains will be available at Kamalapur Railway Station, while tickets for Chattogram and Noakhali bound trains will be sold at Dhaka Airport Station.

Tejgaon station will issue tickets for Mymensingh, Jamalpur and Dewanganj bound trains.

Dhaka Cantonment Station will issue tickets for

Mohonganj and Haor express trains, while Fulbaria Old Station will sell tickets for Sylhet and Kishoreganj bound trains.

"The sale of e-tickets will start at 8 a.m. The sale of advance tickets will also start at 8:00 am and continue till 4:00 pm at counter. A passenger can buy a maximum of four tickets, and the money spent on the tickets will not be refunded, "he also said.

He added that BR would operate six pairs of special trains ahead of Eid and the tickets for the trains will not be available online.
