Law enforcers are yet to arrest the driver of a bus responsible for Tuesday’s road accident that killed a woman and injured her two children at Mirpur in the capital.

Police said they were conducting drives to arrest the driver.

Hasnat Khandaker, inspector (Investigation) of Vasantek Police Station, told the Daily Sun that they could not arrest the bus driver. “But we’re trying our best to arrest him,” he said.

He also said no case was filed over the accident till 7:40pm on Wednesday.

Sabina Yeasmin, 31, was taking her two children -- Humayra Yeasmin Ohi, a fourth grader, and Rafia Yeasmin Mim, 6, to their school by a rickshaw on Tuesday.

Suddenly, a ‘Trust Paribahan’ bus rammed the rickshaw from behind in front of Dhaka Dental College in Mirpuar around 12:00pm and they fell onto the ground, leaving them injured.

They were taken to hospital where doctors declared Sabina dead.
