Bashundhara bitumen reaches highest level of quality

Engineers and local leaders have lauded Bashundhara Bitumen for setting new standards in the quality of the important road construction material.

Addressing a meeting at LGED Bhaban in Feni on Wednesday, they also stressed the importance of ensuring the quality of bitumen for the sustainability of infrastructural development.

Bashundhara Bitumen organised the monthly coordination and review programme with the participation of local engineers and contractors of the district.

Local Government Engineering Department (LGED)’s Chattogram Region Additional Chief Engineer Enamul Haque was the chief guest at the function.

Greater Noakhali District Rural Infrastructure Development-Phase 3 (GNP-3) Project Director Aminur Rashid Chowdhury, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Shusen Chandra Sheel, LGED’s Executive Engineer Hasan Ali were present on the occasion.

In the meeting, the discussants stressed the importance of ensuring high-quality bitumen for the construction of any roads and highways.

They also expressed satisfaction as Bashundhara Group has started producing high-quality bitumen locally. Roads and Highway Division has already approved the use of Bashundhara Bitumen in the construction of national highways.

On behalf of Bashundhara Bitumen, Assistant General Manager Sukanta Kumar Saha took part in the question-answer session with the local contractors. LGED Assistant Engineer Nahida Sultana briefed about the importance of the quality of bitumen for the sustainability of the infrastructures like highways.

Local contractors – Abul Kashem, Gias Uddin and Mohammad Bablu participated in the discussion.

Bashundhara Bitumen Plant, a concern of Bashundhara Oil and Gas Company Ltd, has been producing high-quality bitumen products to contribute to the further development of the country’s communications sector.   

The plant has the capacity to produce bitumen grades such as Cutback, Emulsified, Oxidised and Polymer (SBS, Rubber Powder) and customised as per the client’s requirements.

Also, usual penetration grades (60-70/80-100) and modified grades can be produced and supplied upon demand from Bashundhara Bitumen Plant.

Drum production and filling facilities along with bulk loading facilities have been constructed to facilitate an efficient distribution system from the plant.
