The second round of the corona vaccination campaign will begin today with the target of inoculating over one crore people across the country.

The campaign titled ‘Vaccinating One Crore People a Day' will continue till Wednesday.

Second and third doses of the vaccine will be administered during the campaign between March 28 and 30, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In a health bulletin, DGHS spokesperson Prof. Dr Najmul Islam said the government has increased the number of vaccination centres and booths to carry out the campaign smoothly.

Those, who received the first dose of the vaccine during the first round of the campaign held from February 26 to February 28, will be administered the second shot at the previous centres.

The number of vaccination centres and booths may increase if necessary to tackle the rush of vaccine recipients, the DGHS said.

The 18-year-old people who received the second dose before four months will be able to take the booster dose during the campaign even if they do not get SMS in this regard.

However, frontline fighters, senior citizens, and women will get priority in receiving the booster shot.

Children aged 12 or older who received the first dose 28 days ago, will get the second dose.

In addition, the DGHS called upon children aged 12 years or older who had not received the vaccine yet to take the first dose during the campaign.
