Krishak Sramik Janata League  President Abdul Kader Siddique fears that some half a million people will be killed in a single day if fugitive BNP leader Tarique Rahman comes to power.

“Some 5,00,000 people will be killed in a single day if Tarique Rahman comes to state power,” he said.

Kader Siddique came up with the remarks while addressing an unveiling ceremony of a book titled ‘Diary: During Bangabandhu’s Rule 1973’ at Jatiya Press Club (JPC) in the capital on Thursday.

Expressing worry over the massacre, the valiant freedom fighter said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) will be under lock and key as soon as the Awami League-led government steps down and Bangladesh Nationalist Party comes to power.

“Those who are working in the BSMMU will be kicked out immediately from the hospital,” he said.

Pointing finger at Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Kader Siddique said, “What efforts have you been made to save the future generation?”

“Everyone has to die. Will you not make any effort to save your party?” he asked.

The former lawmaker also said he does not want to see convicted Khaleda Zia in power and he has no expectation from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also.

“It hurts when they (Sheikh Hasina and Khaleda Zia) make mistake and do wrong,” he said.

Bangladesh Liberation War Research Centre President Prof Abu Sayeed presided over the programme and its general secretary Shahjahan Mridha Benu conducted the programme.

Former Justice Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik, former Army Chief M Harun-ar Rashid, freedom fighter Mohsin Hossain Pintu, former president of JPC Shafiqur Rahman and Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCCI) joint secretary general Al Mamun Mridha, among others, addressed the function.
