3 more die, 327 cases detected

The country’s coronavirus situation has been improving day by day as the daily infection rate has declined to below two percent for two consecutive days.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), three more Covid-19 patients have died and 327 cases were detected in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning.

The daily number of coronavirus infection cases has declined to below 1,000 on February 25, after eight weeks as 892 infection cases were reported on January 5 in the country.

The number of total infection cases has risen to 19,48,798 with the overall positivity rate of 14.33 percent. Some 17,103 samples were tested in the last 24 hours to detect the infection cases.

The daily infection rate has remained below four percent for ten consecutive days since February 28.

 The daily infection rate was reported 1.91 percent on Thursday, 1.97 percent on Wednesday, 2.23 percent on Tuesday, 2.18 percent on Monday, 2.63 percent on Sunday and 2.11 percent on Saturday.

Earlier, the coronavirus daily infection rate crossed 30 percent in the country during the third wave of the virus transmission and it started declining further from the beginning of the current month.

The national death toll has increased to 29,100 with a case fatality rate has declined to 1.49 percent.
