Gazi for exhibiting jute products

Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Birpratik, on Monday underscored the need for exhibiting jute products to increase the spread of the versatile product.

“Organise jute fair as much as possible. This will increase the demand for jute products in the country as well as the sales of the products,” he told JDPC officials.

This kind of fair will encourage the jute traders to export jute products abroad, the minister said, reports BSS.

Gazi made the remarks while addressing the inaugural function of a three-day versatile jute products’ fair at Jute Diversification Promotion Center (JDPC) in the city Farmgate area, said a press release.

JDPC Executive Director Mohammad Abul Kalam presided over the function while Secretary of the Textiles and Jute Ministry Md Abdur Rauf spoke, among others. Noting that jute products are gaining acceptance day by day, Gazi said, “Now we need to create more entrepreneurs. The government also wants to create entrepreneurs as there is no alternative to create entrepreneurs”.

The JDPC is organizing the fair which will continue till March 8. A total of 33 institutions took part in the fair, which will remain open from 10am to 10pm everyday.
