Bangladesh U-18 women’s national football team will take on BKSP women’s football team in a friendly match as a part of their preparation for the upcoming third edition of the SAFF U-18 Women’s Championship, scheduled to be held on March 15-25 at JRD Tata Complex in Jamshedpur, India.

The match begins today at the Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamlapur at 11:00am.

Bangladesh Football Federation had already finalised a 24-member squad but is yet to be officially announced. The team are currently taking preparations in a residential camp at BFF house under the head coach Golam Rabbani Choton.

“A 24-member team has been finalised already, a fully-fledged preparation has been going on in the camp here,” Choton told The Daily Sun on Sunday.

Earlier on February 18, Bangladesh U-18 women’s football team defeated BKSP women’s football team by 5-1 goals in another friendly match at the same venue.

“We played our last match during the SAFF U-19 in December. No matches for a long time, the team needs to come back in tempo before the competition,” he said.

“There are some new faces in the squad. The federation decided to arrange a match which is very important for us considering the overall situation,” he added.

The SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship, which has been changed once again to SAFF U-18 Women’s Championship this year, will take place the two-time champions and last year’s SAFF U-19 title holder Bangladesh will start their campaign taking on Nepal on March 17 in India.
