A Dhaka court on Wednesday again asked the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) to submit the probe report by March 27 in a case filed over the murders of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi in 2012.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debdash Chandra Adhikary passed the order after RAB failed to submit the report by the deadline.

With the latest deferment, the investigation officers have so far taken 86 dates to complete the probe but there is no visible progress of the probe.

Even, the High Court in 2019 also expressed disappointment at the lack of significant progress in the probe into the sensational murder case. But the investigator failed to unearth mystery of the murder till now.

According to the case, Sagar Sarwar, news editor at private TV channel Maasranga, and his wife Meherun Runi, a senior reporter at ATN Bangla, were killed in the early hours of February 11, 2012 in their rented flat in the capital’s West Razabazar.
