Rakiba Nasrin, wife of opposition chief whip and former state minister Moshiur Rahman Ranga, died of cancer in a city hospital in the early hours of Monday. She was 55.

Nasrin, also a vice-chairman of Jatiya Party, left her husband, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.

Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader expressed profound shock at the death of Rakiba Nasrin.

In a condolence message, he prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and extended his deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Jatiya Party Chairman said Rakiba Nasrin was a pious and kind woman. She stood by poor and hapless people all her life. She worked silently for the welfare of the people.

Jatiya Party Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu MP also expressed deep shock at the death of the party vice chairman.

Nasrin was laid to eternal rest at Rayerbazar Graveyard following her namaz-e-janaza held at Gulshan Azad Mosque after Zuhr prayers.
