In-form Chattogram Challengers will take on Khulna Tigers in the Chattogram phase’s opening game of the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League T20 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium today.
In the second game of the day, Sylhet Sunrisers will take on Minister Group Dhaka at the same venue.
Chattogram are placed in the second spot of the points table with two victories in three matches while they are followed by Sylhet, Khulna and Dhaka with two points each in the points table.
Although the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur didn’t produce high-scoring day matches in the first phase, Barishal’s Nurul Hasan was hopeful to get good batting wickets in Chattogram.
“Chattogram wicket is always good for batting and we’re expecting competitive matches here,” said Nurul.
Like in Dhaka, the matches will be held behind closed doors due to the surge in Covid-19 cases in the country.
Meanwhile, the BPL governing council’s technical committee had an emergency meeting with the franchises on Wednesday and decided to go for an alternative DRS that will be slow-motion dependent.
