Corona infection cases are increasing alarmingly as the daily infection rate has been remaining over 30 percent for last few days in the country.
According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 17 more Covid-19 patients died and 15,527 infection cases were recorded in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
The daily infection rate was reported 31.64 percent in the country in last 24 hours.
The national death toll has increased to 28,273 with a case fatality rate of 1.63 percent.
Some 1,052 more Covid-19 patients recovered in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning, raising the total number of recoveries to 15,60,006. The recovery rate reached 90.09 percent.
The country's maiden case was reported on 8 March in 2020 and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March of the same year.
Meanwhile, addressing health bulletin of the DGHS, its spokesperson Dr Nazmul Islam on Wednesday said the coronavirus infection has increased in the country due to outbreak of Omicron.
“Clinical guidelines have been prepared. It has already been finalised. We have already sent it to the various health institutes. We will share the guideline with you soon. The guidelines have been prepared with the latest information," he said. The DGHS official further said the symptoms of Omicron variant have been included in the fresh clinical guideline.
It is most important to follow health rules to curb infection, Dr Nazmul said, adding, "If we follow the health guideline, we will be able to control the pandemic."
Nazmul Islam said the number of coronavirus infection cases and infection rate has increased in last week in the country as 9,500 corona patients were reported and the infection rate was around 25 percent on January 19 while the infection rate has been risen to 16,033 and the infection rate has reached 32.40 percent on January 25.
