Padma Oil to build 12-storey tower in Dhaka

Padma Oil Company Limited will build a 12-storey iconic tower at Paribag in the capital at an estimated cost of Tk 393 crore.

The state-owned company signed a deal with a constructionfirm to implement the project. The project styled as “Construction of 12 Storied Modern Residential Cum Commercial Office Building with Two Basement of Padma Oil Company Ltd at Paribag” will be implemented at 1.88 acres of land.

The work will take three and half years and is expected to end in 2025.

State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid attended the signing ceremony virtually as chief guest.

Energy and Mineral Resources Division senior secretary MdMahbub Hossain, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC)chairman ABM Azad and Padma Oil Company Ltd managing director Md Masudur Rahman also attended the event.

Nasrul Hamid said the Padma Oil Tower should be established in an environmentally sound manner and without any sound pollution for neighbours.

He hoped the project would be completed as per the schedules.

Hamid also said that the ministry was considering to appoint a financial consultant to assess the assets of BPC.
