DU suspends in-person classes

In-person academic activities of Dhaka University (DU) will remain suspended until February 6 following the government decision amid the sharp rise in Omicron transmission.

However, online classes and examinations will continue and the residential halls will remain open maintaining proper health protocols.

A press release signed by the university Public Relations Officer Mahmood Alam made the information on Friday.

Meanwhile, Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman said that the residential halls will remain open maintaining health guidelines. However, the offices of the university will remain open on a limited scale from 9:00am to 1:00pm in compliance with the hygiene rules, the press release said.

Students are advised to stay in their respective residences following proper hygiene rules and stakeholders are requested not to hold meetings, rallies and public gatherings on the campus, it added.
