Ferdous, Purnima get spl BABISAS award

Popular film actors Ferdous Ahmed and Dilara Hanif Purnima will receive special award from Bangladesh Binodon Shangbadik Samiti (BABISAS). Organised by Bangladesh Entertainment Journalist Association, the award ceremony will be held at the auditorium of Krishibid Institution in the capital on tomorrow.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud will grace the occasion as the chief guest while Planning Minister MA Mannan will attend the programme as the special guest among others.

This time, the awards of 2019, 2020 and 2021 will be given together. The awardees will get the awards for their contribution to the field of film, drama, music, dance, TV commercial and journalism.

Prominent theatre personality Mamunur Rashid and filmmaker Chatku Ahmed will get the lifetime achievement award. National Film Award-winning actors Ferdous and Purnima will be honoured with the special award.

Ferdous said, “I’m really honoured to get the award. I express my gratitude to the organiser and thanks to my fans for their love.”

Purnima shared, “Thanks to the organiser for selecting me for this special honour. My best wishes for all of them who get BABISAS award.”

Bangladesh Entertainment Journalist Association was formally created on December 30, 2000 on the initiative and effort of journalists. After two years it was registered with the Directorate of Social Service, affiliated with the Ministry of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Government. BABISAS award has been given to the best performers in the media industry every year.
