BGMEA seeks DelMorgan support to draw FDI

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Faruque Hassan sought support of DelMorgan & Co in bringing foreign investment in the potential sectors in Bangladesh.

BGMEA President also sought KiK Textilien und Non-Food GmbH support and collaborate with their suppliers in Bangladesh to build their capacities in manufacturing apparel products having higher market demand.

The BGMEA president made this request while meeting with KiK Textilien und Non-Food GmbH Head of Corporate Social Responsibility Ansgar Lohmann along with Social Compliance Manager Nadine Reifenrath and DelMorgan & Co Managing Director Dr Samir Asaf at BGMEA’s PR office in the capital on Wednesday.

They discussed different issues including the future growth potential in the RMG sector of Bangladesh.

During their discussions, Faruque Hassan requested KiK to support and collaborate with their suppliers in Bangladesh to build their capacities in manufacturing apparel products having higher market demand.    He also assured the German brand of all-out support from BGMEA to expand its suppliers’ base and sourcing volume in Bangladesh.

DelMorgan & Co expressed interest in exploring opportunities to work together in support of BGMEA Members’ strategic financial requirements.

Faruque Hassan highlighted the prospect of investment in different potential sectors including high value-added and non-cotton textiles along with others.

He said that economic viability, the purchasing power of people, demographic dividend and ecosystem are in favour of investment in Bangladesh.
