RAJSHAHI: Two men were arrested for allegedly practicing as doctors without having any medical qualification, Rajshahi police official said on Tuesday.
Police sources said the arrested persons were identified as Salman Sharif Babu, 35, son of Nazrul Islam, and Zahidul Islam Zahid, 37, son of Moidul Islam.
Afterwards, they demanded Taka 4,000 as test fee from the relatives of Sirajul at the nearby Rajshahi Diagnostic Centre. When the relatives refuse to pay the exorbitant fees the fraudulent gang snatched Taka 4,050 from them forcibly.
Sirajul’s son Sumon Ali lodged a case with Rajpara Police Station in this connection.
On a tip-off, a police team conducted a sudden raid at Luxmipur area and arrested the two persons this noon.
Mazharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Rajpara Police Station, said they are trying to bring other gang members to book as early as possible.
