Reigning Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings are drawn alongside Indian club Gokulam Kerala and Maldivian side Maziya Sports and Recreation Club for the upcoming edition of AFC Cup 2022.
The winner of a six-team South Asia playoff will join them in Group D as the tournament draw was held at AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Monday.
Dhaka Abahani will play against the winner between Valencia and Paro match while Mohun Bagan will lock their horns against the winner between Machhindra and Blue Star match with both the matches scheduled on April 12.
The winners of preliminary round two will lock their horns in the play-off final (South Asia) on April 19.
Kings directly entered into the group stage as last season’s Premier League and Federation Cup champions.
Dhaka Abahani got a chance after the BPL runners-up Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club failed to obtain an AFC license and became ineligible for the competition.
