The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday filed two cases against South Bangla Agriculture and Commerce Bank Limited (SBAC) Chairman SM Amzad Hossain and 10 others on charges of embezzling Tk18 crore from the bank.
Deputy Director of the anti-graft body Gulshan Anwar Prodhan filed the cases with its integrated district office in Dhaka-1, said ACC Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain.
The other accused are- Rafi-Mahi Corporation owner AKM Asif Uddin, SBAC Vice-President Sheikh Sharfud-din, Executive Officer Istiyak Ahmed, First Assistant Vice-President Ru-mon-ul- Islam, Executive Officer Tan-jir Uddin Chowdhury and Senior Offi-cer Tasrima Nahid.
The second case was filed against SBAC Chairman SM Amzad Hossain and five others on charges of embez-zling Tk 6.08 crore from the bank.
The others accused are Al-Amin Corporation proprietors Masudur Rah-man and Jamal Ahmed, SBAC Vice-President Sheikh Sharfuddin, Execu-tive Officer Tanjir Uddin Chowdhury and Senior Officer Bulbul Iftakhar Ali.
