Defending champions Bangladesh U-19 national cricket team did not manage a big total against England in their first match of the ICC U-19 World Cup in Basseterre, the capital of Saint Kitts and Nevis on Sunday.
Bangladesh lost their openers early and managed only 97 runs losing all wickets in 35.2 overs after winning the toss. Bangladesh openers failed to impress with the bat as they departed within seven overs.
Ripon Mondol of Bangladesh scored the highest 33 runs for the team from 41 balls hitting five boundaries and a six.
England’s bowler Joshua Boyden picked up four wickets allowing 16 runs.
In the previous edition of the U-19 World Cup, Bangladesh beat India in the final and clinched the title for the first time.
In the next two matches of the group stage, Bangladesh will take on Canada and the United Arab Emirates.
