‘Don’t pay heed to rumours about closure of edn instts’

The education ministry on Saturday urged the people of the country not to pay heed to any rumours about the closure of educational institutions amid the upsurge of Covid-19 cases and deaths across the country.

The ministry issued a statement mentioning that it is being spread in social media that educational institutions will be closed for an indefinite period, which is a rumour.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni did not give any such statement in this regard recently, it added.

It also said the government is monitoring overall coronavirus situation and it will hold talks with the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid again in this regard.

The ministry said now the government is giving priority on ensuring vaccination of students of the educational institutions. The education ministry also urged everyone to refrain from providing any information in advance.
