CHATTOGRAM: A Juba League (JL) leader has been sued under the Digital Security Act for a post on facebook against a lawmaker.
In the post, it was alleged the JL leader gave the lawmaker a bribe of Tk 15 lakh for getting the party nomination for the chairman post in the UP election. Satkania Upazila Awami League Information and Research Affairs Secretary M Hossain Kabir filed the case with the court of Chattogram Cyber Tribunal Judge SKM Tofael Hasan on Monday.
The accused identified as Mohammad Kamal Uddin was Assistant Law Affairs Secretary of Juba League’s Chattogram south district unit and is additional public prosecutor of Chattogram Judge Court. Sources said Kamal Uddin in a facebook post on Thursday alleged that lawmaker Moslem Uddin Ahmed, also the Awami League Chattogram South district unit president, took a bribe of 15 lakh in the name of helping him get the AL nomination for the upcoming UP polls. Kamal was expelled from the Juba League committee after the incident.
