ACC sues ex-UP chairman over illegal wealth

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against SM Din Islam, former chairman of Sagladah Union Parishad of Terokhada upazila in Khulna, on charges of amassing illegal wealth.

The anti-graft body’s Assistant Director Al-Amin on Thursday filed the case with its integrated district in Khulna accusing the union parishad chairman for the graft charges, said ACC spokesperson M Arif Sadiq.

According to findings, Din Islam owned 13.921 acre land worth Tk 91.04 lakh when he was chairman from 2014 to 2019 tenure. During inquiry, Din Islam did not give any evidence about the sources of the money.
