Toggi Services Limited (TSL), a technology venture of Bashundhara Group, will produce IT items in the country, giving further impetus for Bangladesh’s digitisation programme.
TSL, the leading IT and software marketing company and lone partner of Lenovo Laptop and Desktop in Bangladesh, has now moved to establish an IT industry on 100 acres of land in Bashundhara Industrial Economic Zone in Mirsharai of Chattogram.
Safwan Sobhan Tasvir, vice-chairman of Bashundhara Group and managing director of TSL, made the announcement while addressing as the chief guest a partner meet jointly organised by TSL and Lenovo Bangladesh on Thursday night with the slogan “Beyond the Business”.
Mohammad Uzzal Molla, operational in-charge of TSL, made the welcome address at the programme held in Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital.
Multiplan Centre Shop Owners’ Association General Secretary Subrata Sarker, Elephant Road Computer Shop Owners’ Welfare Association President Mustafizur Rahman Tuhin and General Secretary SM Wahiduzzaman, Ryans IT Ltd Managing Director Ahmed Hasan, Star Tech Director Jahed Ali Bhuiyan, Lenovo Bangladesh Regional Channel Manager Hasan Reaz and its Area Sales Officer Syed Miraz attended the programme as special guests.
Besides, the officials of TSL and Lenovo and over 100 IT businessmen were present.
In his speech, Safwan Sobhan Tasvir said all the products and ventures of Bashundhara Group, including housing, paper, cement, LPG and media, have secured top position in their respective fields for quality. “We (Bashundhara Group) enter every sector with a long-term plan. We have two blocks in Mirsharai Economic Zone -- one of 500 acres and the other of 486 acres. Construction of a number of factories there is underway. A plot of 100 acres of land has been earmarked for producing IT items. We’ve also allocated land in Mongla Economic Zone for the same purpose.”
Lenovo Bangladesh Regional Channel Manager Hasan Reaz shed light on the ever-expanding IT market and Bangladesh’s potential in the sector.
