62 dengue patients hospitalised in 7 days

The dengue situation has remained under control at the beginning of the New Year as a total of 62 dengue cases were reported across the country in the last 7 days.

No death, however, occurred during the time, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The DGHS said one dengue patient was hospitalised while none died of the disease in 24 hours until Friday morning.

A total of 31 patients diagnosed with dengue are now receiving treatment in 41 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while 21 outside the city, it said.

A total of 1,207 dengue patients were hospitalised and seven deaths were recorded in the last month.

In the last year, a total of 28,429 people were infected with dengue across the country while 105 patients died.
