The number of coronavirus infection cases is increasing day by day, causing concern to the people of the country. 

According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), three more Covid-19 patients died and 892 infection cases were recorded in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning. Earlier, 775 infection cases were reported on Tuesday, 674 cases on Monday, 557 on Sunday, 370 on Saturday and 512 on Friday.

The number of total infections has risen to 15,88,807. Some 21,251 samples were tested in the last 24 hours to detect the infection cases.

The national death toll has increased to 28,090 with a case fatality rate of 1.77 percent. However, the number of death has been remaining below 10 for the last 78 consecutive days.

Some 212 more Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning,

raising the total number of recoveries to 15,50,168.

The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March in 2020 and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.

Meanwhile, addressing a health bulletin of the DGHS, its spokesperson Prof Dr Nazmul Islam on Wednesday said 3,892 infection cases were reported in the last epidemiological week till Tuesday morning which is 1503, around 63 percent more than that in previous week.

The infection cases have started increasing in the country since end of the December last year.

Health ministry sources said the government is going to publish gazette within one or two days about new health guidelines with some restrictions to contain the fresh surge of the coronavirus infection cases.
