Digital healthcare platform Doctor Dekhao app has won ‘Sheikh Hasina Youth Volunteer’ award for supporting medical service amid challenging time of coronavirus pandemic.

Ministry of Youth and Sports and Ministry of Foreign Affairs jointly announced the award in ‘Best Innovative Idea’ category at a programme recently.

President M Abdul Hamid virtually joined the award giving ceremony as the chief guest while Foreign Minister Abdul Momen was present as special guest.

The awards were announced for the first time under 'Dhaka OIC Youth Capital 2020' initiative of Islamic Co-operation Youth Forum (ICYF).

From Bangladesh, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Social Welfare co-organised the event.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel, Tatarstan Youth Minister Timur Suleymanov, ICYF President Taha Ayhan and Youth and Sports Ministry Senior Secretary Akhter Hossain attended the function.

Doctor Dekhao CEO Mohammad Adnan said the ‘Sheikh Hasina Youth Volunteer Award-2020’ will inspire the team to continue with innovative work.

“We are moving forward with long-term plans. I want to get the people of the country accustomed to seeing doctors online. We are working towards the goal of ensuring quality medical care for people from all walks of life,” he said.

Durbin Health Tech Limited developed the app in association with co-founders Mohammad Adnan, Mostafizur Rahman and Md Touhiduzzaman.

The app has already been downloaded 90 thousand times from Google Play Store until Sunday. More than 1 lakh 20 thousand users have registered as users.
