Passport official sued for ‘graft’

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday filed a case against Mohammad Tofiqul Islam Khan, director of the Divisional Passport office in Dhaka, on charge of amassing wealth worth Tk 58.38 lakh beyond known sources of income.     

Assistant Director of the anti-graft body Saiduzzman filed the case with its integrated district office in Dhaka-1, said ACC spokesperson M Arif Sadiq. On January 22, 2020, Tofiqul Islam Khan submitted his wealth statement to the ACC, showing his property worth Tk 4.26 crore while the commission found his actual wealth worth Tk 5.09 crore during an inquiry.
