Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Faruque Hassan urged local entrepreneurs to invest in creating own fashion brands and retail internationally.

He came up with this request while inaugurating online-based fashion house Blucheez at Impetus Lounge in the capital on Tuesday.

The BGMEA president said that it is encouraging to see local fashion brands growing in Bangladesh and doing really well in terms of design and quality, report agencies.

He expected cooperation from all to promote the local brands and hoped Bangladeshi brands would grow to reach international customers in the coming days.

Faruque Hassan said that Bangladesh is the second largest exporter of ready-made garments in the world, but most of the products are sold under international brands. So it’s time to create our own brands and go global with products as we have both capacities and long experience in garment manufacturing.

Blucheez co-founder SimeenZaman said, "We will put emphasis on the online process to make sure we bring world class fashion trends. Besides, lab testing of the fabrics is done in order to maintain the quality.”

Blucheez founder Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman said, “We’re working tirelessly through our own designers to ensure that the clients get a variety of products that are great in quality.”
