Bangladesh men’s team make it two in two

Hosts Bangladesh continued their winning run in the Bangabandhu Asian Central Zone Men’s Volleyball Challenge Cup as they beat Maldives by 3-0 sets (25-14, 25-19, 25-22) in their second match at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.

Bangladesh earlier defeated Nepal by 3-0 sets in their opening match on Thursday. “We won two matches which is a good start for us.  Our target is to play the final. These two wins will be very crucial before the next tough match against Sri Lanka,” said Bangladesh captain Harshit Biswash after the match.

Meanwhile, the women’s team lost their second match of the Bangamata Asian Central Zone Women’s Volleyball Challenge Cup against Uzbekistan by 3-0 sets (25-11, 25-15, 25-14) on the same day. The team earlier conceded a 0-3 set defeat to Kyrgyzstan.
