CHATTOGRAM: Police have submitted a charge sheet against BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and another person in the case filed on charge of hatching conspiracy against the state and plotting subversive activities.   

Investigation Officer (IO) Sub-Inspector Sanjoy Guha of Counter Terrorism Unit of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) submitted the charge sheet to the court of Chattogram Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Thursday.

Counter Terrorism Unit Deputy Commissioner Faruk Ul Hoque said Khasru and Barrister Milhanur Rahman Nowmi were made accused in the charge sheet.

Though allegations were also made under ICT Act against them in the case, there were some information mistakes. So, the charge sheet was submitted under the special power act, he said.

Allegations of hatching anti-state and anti-government conspiracy, and plotting subversive activities were made against the accused in the charge sheet, he said.

Mentionable, a telephone conversation between Khasru and the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) man about the safe road movement went viral on August 4.

In the audio clip, Khasur asked the JCD man to intensify the movement in the capital. 

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chattogram city unit Acting General Secretary Jakaria Dastagir filed a case against Khasru and his unidentified associates under sections 57 (2) of ICT Act and 15 (3) of Special Power Act with Kotwali police station on the same day.

Allegations of hatching conspiracy against the state using electronic device and plotting subversive activities were made against the accused in the case.
