Police are yet to arrest the accused who fled from Pallabi Police Station in the capital on Monday noon.

The accused, Shafiqul Islam Nantu, fled when he was being picked up in a prison van.

Tarik-bin-Khalid, sub-inspector of the police station, filed a case with the police station in this regard.

Abu Sayed Al Mamun, inspector (investigation) of the police station, told the Daily Sun that four to five teams of police were working to capture the accused.

He hoped that they could arrest the accused soon.

He said that Nantu and some other accused were being picked up in a prison van to produce them before courts.

At that time, Nantu tactfully freed his hands from the handcuff and fled, he said.

The policemen chased him to hold, but failed, he added.
