Fire in RMCH

A fire broke out in the main building of Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on Monday morning.

There were, however, no reports of casualties.

Md Saleh Uddin, acting deputy director of the Rangpur Fire Service said on receiving information, six units of the Fire Service rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control after struggling for about one hour.

Firemen suspect that an electrical short circuit is responsible for the fire incident.

The fire started in Ward 7 on the third floor of the building where 40 patients were receiving treatment.

At least 20 to 25 patients received minor injures, as they were rushing out of the hospital. But all of them are now doing fine.
