The defending champions Bangladesh bounced back on the race after they crushed Bhutan by 6-0 goals in their second match of the ongoing SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Sepoy Mustofa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur on Monday.

Tohura Khatun scored twice in the second and added time (45+3 minute) while Shahada Akter Ripa also netted a brace in the 41st and 47th minutes.

Rituporna Chakma and Maria Manda added one each in the 69th and in the added time (90+2 minute) respectively to confirm Bangladesh’s massive victory.

Bangladesh earlier started their campaign in the five-team competition with a goalless draw against Nepal on Saturday.

Bhutan outplayed Sri Lanka by 5-0 goals in their opening match.

Bangladesh will play their last two matches against India and Sri Lanka on December 17 and 19 at the same venue.

Meanwhile, in the day’s other match, India defeated Sri Lanka by a 5-0 margin to begin the tournament on a winning way.
