The Month of Victory

Eight mass graveyards, including the largest at the Arts Faculty of Feni Government College, told the horrors of thousands who were tortured and killed by the Pak troops in Feni. Khwaja Ahmed, MLA of Feni, felicitating the Indian Army after the city was liberated on December 6, 1971.


 

Kilo Flight: By December 4, 1971 the “Kilo Flight,” was well organised with manpower, spares, ammunition, tentage and mobility. Operating from Kailashahar, an abandoned airfield in Tripura bordering East Pakistan, it engaged with targets in Kalaura, Maulvi Bazar, Shamsher Nagar, Darbart, Brahmanbaria, Daudkandi and Narsingdi Road. The Indian and Bangladeshi pilots with the Alouette (Chetak) helicopter.
