Six more people died of coronavirus infections and 329 cases were detected during the last 24 hours till Sunday.

The country’s coronavirus infection situation still remains stable in the country but the numbers of daily infection cases and deaths have risen slightly during this time.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in their regular bulletin on Sunday.

Earlier, 5 death of Covid-19 patients and 177 infection cases were reported on Saturday morning.  One coronavirus death and 269 infection cases were reported on Friday, zero death and 262 infection cases on Thursday, 6 patients died and 277 infection cases were reported on Wednesday, 5 deaths and 291 cases were reported on Tuesday and 4 deaths and 277 cases were reported on Monday.

The daily corona infection rate has remained below 2 percent for around a month. Some 1.52 percent infection rate was reported on Sunday. It was 1.13 percent on Saturday, 1.34 percent on Friday, 1.22 percent on Thursday, 1.35 percent on Wednesday,   1.78 percent on Tuesday, 1.44 percent on Monday and 1.03 percent on Sunday.

For the 69 consecutive days, the country reported daily positivity rate below 3 percent.  The infection rate was below 4 percent for 78 days in a row and below 5 percent for the last 85 consecutive days.

The number of daily cases was reported below 500 for the last 60 days in a row, below 400 for 54 consecutive days and below 300 for 44 days in a row.

The number of total infections has risen to 15,79,385 with the overall positivity rate 14.20 percent. Some 21,612 samples were tested in the last 24 hours to detect the infection cases.

The national death toll has increased to 28,028 with a case fatality rate of 1.77 percent. The number of death remains below 10 for the last 56 consecutive days.

At the same time, the recovery rate continued to improve in the country reaching 97.77 percent with the recuperation of a good number of Covid-19 patients every day.

Some 288 more Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning, raising the total number of recoveries to 15,44,150.

The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
