Digital Bangladesh Day observed in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA: The 5th National Digital Bangladesh Day-2021 was observed in the district as elsewhere in the country on Sunday through various programmes.

The day’s programme began through paying homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his portrait at Gaibandha Poura Park in the morning.

Then, a post rally discussion meeting organized by district administration was also held at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner (DC) here marking the day.

DC Abdul Matin attended the function as the chief guest and additional police super Abu Khayer and general secretary of district Awami League Abu Bakar Siddique and chairman of Sadar upazila Shah Sarwar Kabir spoke at the event as the special guests while ADC-General Sadequr Rahman presided over the ceremony.

DC Abdul Matin said under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina the country was turned into digital Bangladesh.

The government has been working relentlessly since 2009 to build Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the DC added.

Later, the DC distributed prizes to the winners who participated in online quiz and essay writing competitions.
