Govt working to boost tech exports by 2025: Palak

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak said at present the exports earnings in the technology sector is 1.3 billion US dollar and government is working to raise this earning to 5 billion US dollar by 2025.

The minister said while virtually addressing a discussion organized by Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad Singra Upazila on its bi-annual conference as the chief guest, said a press release on Sunday, reports BSS.

President of the Natore district branch Puja Udjapan Parishad Uma Chowdhury Joly inaugurated the conference with the president of Shingra upazila branch Golap Bihari Das in the chair. Palak said, "Our Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujubur Rahman led the language movement and independent movement. He wanted to build a progressive, secular and non-discriminatory Bangladesh."

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has built Digital Bangladesh with her honesty, courage and prudent leadership to build Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he added.

"2021 is a memorable year for us because this year is the golden jubilee of independence, the birth centenary celebration of Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the fulfillment of the goal of implementing Digital Bangladesh," he added.

He further said, 12 years ago Bangladesh had only 40 percent of electricity connections and 56 lakh of internet connections but at present, technology based prosperous Bangladesh is moving forward under the supervision of the architect of Digital Bangladesh Sajeeb Wazed Joy and the leadership of Sheikh Hasina .
