Vitamin A plus campaign kicks off

The national Vitamin A plus campaign started across the country on Saturday, aiming to feed Vitamin A capsules to children aged between six and 59 months.

The campaign will continue until December 14 under the arrangement of National Nutrition Services of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Institution of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN).

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque inaugurated the campaign at a function at Dhaka Shishu Hospital on Saturday.

The Vitamin A plus campaign will continue from 9am to 4pm every day by ensuring health guidelines.

According to the IPHN, children aged between six and 11 months will be given blue capsules, containing 1 lakh IEU, while the children aged between 12 and 59 months will be fed red capsules, containing 2 lakh IEU.
