Mahakal Natya Sampraday honoured nine organisations which are regularly conducting research on Liberation War and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, as well as contributing to spread cultural practices at a programme held at National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) on Friday.
State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid graced the event as the chief guest with Bangabandhu o Swadhinata Natya Utsab convener Afzal Hossain in the chair.
The organisations who received the awards are-- Liberation War Museum, Sirajganj Uttaran Mahila Sangstha, Theatre Patrika, Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshthi, Chhayanaut, Bangladesh Gram Theatre, Kendria Koci-Kachar Mela, People’s Theatre Association and Bangladesh Theatre Archives.
Theatre’s editor Ramendu Majumdar, Liberation War Museum trustee Sarwar Ali, Kendria Koci-Kachar Mela’s Syed Abul Barak Alvi, People’s Theatre Association’s chief executive Liaquat Ali Lucky, Chhayanaut General Secretary Laisa Ahmed Lisa, Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshthi’s General Secretary Jamshed Anwer Tapan, Asifa Chowdhury Sumi and freedom fighter Rahela for Sirajganj Uttaran Mahila Sangstha and Bangladesh Theatre Archives’ Director Babul Biswas received the award for their respective organisations.
Mahakal Natya Sampraday honoured the organizations as part of their 11-day theatre festival titled Bangabandhu o Swadhinata Natyautsab.
The festival will end tomorrow.
