Another day free from corona death

The country saw no death from coronavirus infection for another day on Thursday, though 262 infection cases were detected on the day.

Earlier on November 20, the country saw zero death from the virus for the first time since April 3 last year.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in their regular bulletin on the day.

Earlier, 6 Covid-19 patients died and 277 infection cases were reported on Wednesday, 5 deaths and 291 cases were reported on Tuesday and 4 deaths and 277 cases were reported on Monday.

The daily corona infection rate has remained below 2 percent for around a month. Some 1.22 percent infection rate was reported on Thursday. It was 1.35 percent on Wednesday, 1.78 percent on Tuesday, 1.44 percent on Monday and 1.03 percent on Sunday.

For the 66th consecutive days, the country reported daily positivity rate below 3 percent. The infection rate was below 4v percent for 75 days in a row and below 5 percent for the last 82 consecutive days.

The number of daily cases was reported below 500 for the last 57 days in a row, below 400 for 51 consecutive days and below 300 for 41 days in a row.

The number of total infections has risen to 15,78,550 with the overall positivity rate 14.27 percent. Some 21,496 samples were tested in the last 24 hours to detect the infection cases.
