Agriculture Minister Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque has said that SAARC countries need to work together to eradicate hidden hunger in this region.
The agriculture minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar titled “'Strategies to address hidden hunger in the SAARC countries: commemorating the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables 202” at Bangladesh Agriculture Research Council (BARC) auditorium in the capital’s Farmgate area on Wednesday, on the occasion of the 37th SAARC Charter Day.
“We have to go for modern technology for the sustainable development of agriculture. All modern technologies including greenhouse, glass house technology should be spread among the farmers. Farmers have to be trained in this regard and the SAARC Forum can play an important role in this,” he said.
The minister said, “The government is working to ensure nutritious food for all. SAARC countries have the opportunity to work together on these issues.”
The seminar was held on strategies for eradicating hidden hunger in SAARC countries.
